The tour starts in the Leipzig Südvorstadt and passes near a Leipzig landmark, the Völkerschlachtdenkmal (Monument to the Battle of the Nations). Afterwards, it goes through the fields to the first bathing opportunities at Moritzsee or Grillensee near Naunhof. The following gravel sections through the forests invite you to relax and enjoy before returning along the shores of Störmtahler and Markleeberger Lakes; the Karli heads back toward the starting point. The tour can be ridden in any season and in both directions.

Safety guidelines

The route may include sections that are somewhat difficult to ride or where you have to dismount and push briefly. The single trails around the lakes are very narrow and can be only partially passable, especially in summer due to leaf growth. At these spots, there are always alternative route options without having to take a large detour.

Dismount and push

after approx. 29.7 km (for approx. 163 m)

after approx. 58 km (for approx. 69 m)
