We start at the Greifensteine tourist information center. Past the mountain hotel, turning left downstream towards Greifenbachtal, we reach the former drainage adit of the mining industry, the Golden Eagle Adit. Nearby begins the Röhrgraben. Until the mine was shut down in 1990, the water from the Röhrgraben was used for tin processing. It is considered the oldest artifical channel still in operation in Germany (length 4.9 km). Below the Röhrgraben, we continue and come to the Garisch Adit. Opposite on the Geyer side is the Garisch Opposite Adit. Past the artificially created waterfall (wastewater from the Greifenstein Adit) and downstream along the spoil heaps is the Schanzen cabin in the Greifenbachtal. Passing by there downhill, we discover the concrete footings of the former Greifenbachtal bridge (once the largest narrow gauge railway in Germany). Not far away is the Reicher Silver Consolation Adit. At Christmas 1769, six miners tragically died here during an ore extraction method involving fire setting. In memory, the Christmas shift takes place to this day on Sauberg in Ehrenfriedersdorf. We follow the marking of the hiking trail "green line" and go uphill to the Röhrgraben and Greifenstein Adit (with snack bar). We continue downstream above the Röhrgraben and admire there the Leier Adit with its wall remains of the stamping mill and ore dressing plant. Following the Röhrgraben further, we reach right uphill back to the starting point.
