- Destination: Sörnziger Weg, 09306 Rochlitz (landing left bank side) or Furthweg, 04680 Colditz (boat launch site canoe club Colditz)
Sometimes wild and romantic, sometimes calm and cozy, the Zwickauer Mulde flows past rock gorges, forests, idyllic floodplains, and magnificent castles. The paddle route Wechselburg – Rochlitz has become a real classic over time. The water tour is about 8 km long and rarely lasts longer than 2 hours. In summer, if the water level is low, it may happen that some need to get out of the boat. This route offers the best conditions for a project day/class trip or a rubber boat party with a subsequent barbecue package as a company event!
For the paddle route from Rochlitz to Colditz (14 km), plan about 4 – 6 hours. Two weir portages are necessary! This route is suitable if you plan a day trip.

Wechselburg - Rochlitz
- Distance: 8 km

Start: Wechselburg, entry about 200 m above Muldenbrücke, right bank side (town side)
(Entry times to protect nature, observe: year-round 10 – 11:30 a.m. and 2 – 3:30 p.m.)
- past impressive Rochlitz porphyry rocks // Note! Do not step on gravel islands (nature protection)
- pass the striking suspension bridge at Sörnzig
Intermediate destination: Rochlitz, exit option left bank side (meadow at the river bend, about 500 m before Rochlitz Castle)
The continuation from Rochlitz to Colditz is recommended for experienced water hikers, as portaging boats at two weirs is required.

- Distance: 14 km
- Duration: 4 - 6 hours
- Portage: 2x from Rochlitz Castle
continue to Rochlitz Castle, then on the right bank side under the railway bridge before the town weir of Rochlitz exit the boat and portage
- after the weir, re-enter and continue on the Mulde
(Note! Alternating rapid and quiet river sections, partly tree obstacles; no resting opportunities until Colditz) - after about 10 km, Lastauer Mühle weir, exit at the right bank side at the jetty and portage about 300 m
- launch at the level of the parking lot and paddle to Colditz
Destination: Colditz, exit directly after the distinctive road bridge, stairs right bank side at the canoe club grounds

Additional information
The section of the Zwickauer Mulde between Colditz weir and the confluence of the Mulde in Sermuth is unsuitable for rubber boats. A passage is not recommended.
