Path of the Dropouts - Göltzschtouren

The ‘Path of the Dropouts’ invites you to enjoy a varied walk through the countryside around Greiz – with sweeping views across the valleys of the Göltzsch and Elster, quiet woodland paths, rocky vantage points and fascinating insights into the region’s industrial history and economic development.Passing historic production sites, preserved remnants of the textile era and today’s craft and industrial areas, the trail offers new perspectives on life and work along the two rivers – both then and now.

The route takes you along the Köhlersteig and the Rothentaler Alpen, past striking viewing rocks, rest areas and little discoveries by the wayside – a gentle up-and-down that piques your curiosity and invites you to take a break.
