This panoramic hike leads to the Kahleberg, at 905 meters the highest elevation in the Altenberg vacation region and the Eastern Ore Mountains. Hikers reach the summit through quiet forests and along the Galgenteich pond, which rewards them with an impressive panorama of the Dresden Elbe Valley, the Elbe Sandstone Mountains and the Bohemian Central Mountains. The Bergbaude restaurant on the Kahleberg invites you to take a break along the way with regional dishes and wonderful views. The tour is suitable for baby carriages.

Directions
- You start at the tourist information office in Altenberg and walk in the direction of the Altenberg adventure mountain. The Alte Zaunhäuser Weg begins here, which you follow to the junction at the I-wing. Turn slightly left onto the Moorweg. At the end of the path, follow the K-wing for a while until you can turn right onto trail no. 30. Follow this to the summit of the Kahleberg. After enjoying the wonderful view, head back to the first crossroads. Now follow the I-wing on the left until you can turn left again after a short time onto route 31. Follow this road, cross Rehefelder Straße and continue to the Neugraben junction. Turning right will take you to the large gallows pond. You are welcome to walk along the foot of the pond or along its crown to the campsite. Follow the path straight ahead until you reach the Schellerhauer Weg, which takes you back to the starting point.
