Make your way across the entire Tharandt Forest to the geographic center of Saxony near the Diebskammer and the rock, which along the historic salt road commemorates the legendary robber captain Lips Tulian. Partly hike on the first Sachsenring, the historic motorcycle racing track Grillenburger Dreieck, which is revived every two years with a memorial ride, and discover historical landmarks along the path.

From the start at the Tharandt dome hall, follow the hiking trail marker with the yellow stripe (Flößerpfad) to Grillenburg. Passing the Grillenburg hunting lodge complex, follow the Saxon Way of St. James to the geographic center of Saxony. Then continue along the yellow stripe marker to Klingenberg/Colmnitz station and back to Grillenburg. Follow the green dot trail marker back to the Tharandt dome hall. Alternatively, a return trip by S-Bahn S3 / RB 30 Klingenberg-Tharandt is possible (fare zones Dippoldiswalde and Freital VVO).

Parking lots at the market (Am Markt), Naturmarkt (Pienner Straße/Dresdner Straße), park & ride at the station and Forstcampus TU Dresden (access from Dresdner Straße to the signalman's house) as well as at Roßmäßlerstraße and at the elementary school (Wilsdruffer Straße)

S-Bahn S3 Dresden-Tharandt-Freiberg, Regionalbahn RB30 Dresden-Zwickau or Regionalexpress RE3 Dresden-Hof to Tharandt station with park & ride (Fare zone Freital VVO)
