On the Skala circular hike, you walk on natural paths, which are partly very narrow and close to the water. Impressive rock formations, expansive floodplain forests, and the Löbauer Wasser make the Skala a small but fine natural spectacle.
Points of interest along the way
- The Gröditzer Viaduct (approx. 170 m long and ten arches) - evokes the once impressive view of passing trains on the decommissioned Löbau – Weißenberg – Radibor railway line
- A detour to the bike and hiking trail Mühlen am Löbauer Wasser to Weißenberg to the Old Pepper Kitchen Museum
- The Ecumenical Pilgrimage Path along the historic trade route Via Regia
- Gröditz Castle and Park

Directions
- The starting point is the hiking parking lot in Gröditz on Neue Straße
- Go downhill along the street until you cross the "Löbauer Wasser"
- From here, follow the marking with the yellow stripe and you will shortly reach the Skala.
- On the south side of the Löbauer Wasser, the route tip leads along the Upper Path. (the Lower Path is more difficult)
- Approximately halfway through the route, you cross the Löbauer Wasser over a somewhat daring-looking wooden bridge
- From here, follow the red stripe marking back to Gröditz
- Below the castle, the route leads back into the village
- The ascent to the castle is also worthwhile (the return to the starting point then follows through the village center)
