Stoneman Miriquidi MTB section Oberwiesenthal Bärenstein

This is how it starts: After a short, steep climb, the Stoneman follows Vierenstraße. The route turns off to the right in front of the small Olympic Winner Museum (14 Olympic winners) at the Sportbaude Waldeck. From the Hotel Jens Weißflog (3-time Olympic champion and Stoneman Miriquidi messenger), the forest paths tend to descend and soon cross the tracks of the narrow-gauge railroad built in 1897. Over the "Toskabank", the Stoneman heads towards the Cranzahl dam. Shortly before the body of water, turn right, now the ascent begins, steep at the end, to the 898 meter high Bärenstein summit (basalt table mountain) with the accommodation house and the observation tower built in 1913.

The detour to the summit cross and viewpoint is about 200m and well worth it.
