Stoneman Miriquidi Road stage 12 Klasterec n.O. - Klinovec

Klášterec nad Ohří (Klösterle an der Eger) is picturesquely situated between the Ore Mountains and the Duppau Mountains. Over 200 years ago, one of the most important porcelain factories in the Czech Republic was established here, which still sells its wares in the museum store of the magnificent Klášterec Castle. At the end of the 19th century, mineral springs were discovered upstream. The Eugenie spa there now invites you to relax. From Klášterec n. O. the route continues via Klasterecka Jesen in the direction of Medenec. The history of Kupferberg is closely linked to mining, which has probably been carried out here at the foot of the Kupferhübel (Mědník) since the 10th century, primarily for silver-bearing copper ore. Kupferberg was first mentioned as a settlement in a document in 1449. Today it is part of the Ore Mountains/Krusnehori mining region. The route continues via Horní Halže to the royal ascent of the Stoneman Miriquidi Road. The next checkpoint is the Keilberg, at 1,244 meters the highest mountain in the Ore Mountains.
