At various resting places, young and old hikers can learn interesting and amusing facts about the very voracious monsters that are said to have been up to mischief in the Vogtland region a long time ago and 85 years ago gave their name to the Dragon's Cave - the only dripstone cave in Saxony. A brave miller's boy is said to have surprised the voracious monster in his sleep on the hill of the present windmill and stabbed it to death with a pitchfork. In this way, the miller's sweetheart was saved from her gruesome fate.

Directions
- All kinds of legends and myths have grown up around the Vogtland. Dense forests were home to little moss men, crystal-clear streams were home to beautiful mermaids and a hidden underworld, it is said, was the realm of a ravenous dragon. The Dragon Circuit follows in his footsteps. The hike starts at the dragon cave in Syrau. Saxony's only show cave was given this melodious name because of the legend. The hike then continues in the direction of the windmill. A small chapel once stood there in honour of the dragon conqueror. The path leads past open fields into the gloomy thicket of the forest. Creaking tree giants, moss-covered clearings and peculiar forest creatures fire the imagination around the green mythical creature. Various panels and activity stations await the curious in a humorous, playful way. At the end, you end up back at the origin of the legend - a subterranean natural spectacle.
