  • Start: Sohland a.d. Spree
  • Destination: Schönbach

On the third stage, the route goes from Sohland a.d. Spree to Schönbach.

If you manage to cross the Sky Bridge from 1796 without damage, everyone will believe you in the future. Because a legend predicts: If a liar crosses the bridge, it will collapse.

The highlight of the stage is the summit of Bieleboh near Oppach, at 499 meters not much lower than Valtenberg. Its observation tower offers a view of what has been achieved so far, the cultural landscape of Upper Lusatia, and the destinations on the distant horizon.

To reach your overnight stay in Schönbach, you have to leave the mountain path. The next morning you will reach the Upper Lusatian mountain trail again via the connecting path.

Author´s Tip / Recommendation of the author

A detour to Oppach to the source of Oppacher mineral water, to Cunewalde to the largest Protestant village church in Germany, or to Crostau to the local Silbermann organ is possible.
