After leaving Bad Brambach, it becomes legendary and somewhat eerie when you reach the Galgenberg. According to legend, a young girl was accidentally executed here because a messenger who was to deliver the verdict accidentally wiped his forehead with a white cloth when he was already visible in the distance. When he realized his mistake, his head rolled as well. To this day, the headless messenger is said to ride his rounds on his horse around the Galgenberg at ghost hour……
The undoubtedly next highlight is the 664 m high Wirtsberg in Landwüst, on whose summit a striking building serves as a rest area. Because of its shape, it is affectionately called "Lemon squeezer" by locals. The panoramic view from here is one of the most beautiful distant views of the region. Now the path leads directly into the Vogtland Music Corner to Markneukirchen. A visit to the pretty small music town should definitely not be missed. The first mention of the place dates back to 1274, founded by the Vogts of Plauen. In the 17th century, Bohemian violin makers settled here, who had to leave Bohemia for religious reasons. In 1677, the first violin makers guild in Germany was founded. In the following years, more and more instrument makers settled in the area. Markneukirchen is still regarded today with its over 100 workshops and manufactories as the center of German orchestral instrument making.
True masterpieces are created here. In the Erlebniswelt Musikinstrumentenbau Vogtland® in Markneukirchen and in the delightful Musical Instrument Museum, one can experience how the instruments are made and learn about the history.

Directions
The starting point of the stage via Landwüst and Markneukirchen to Breitenfeld is the Protestant church at the marketplace of Bad Brambach. A hollow way deeply carved into the landscape leads out of the spa town to the bypass road (B 92) and further to the scenic Galgenberg, the former execution site of Brambach. Here the marking guides the hiker towards the German-Czech border. It goes downhill along it into the Saugrund, which rightly bears its name.
Over a corduroy road, the hiking trail runs a secure path through the small swamp and then uphill to nearby Rohrbach. There you enter a high forest again and comfortably hike over the Schieferknock (671 m) into the neighboring Landwüst. The once inconspicuous forest road of this section has a long and important past as a trade, army and salt road, as evidenced among other things by the mileposts in Rohrbach and Landwüst. Of course, you also pay a visit to the open-air museum there, especially since a nice place to stop for refreshments is located there. But first, you climb the Wirtsberg, because it offers one of the most beautiful panoramic views of the entire Vogtland. On days with clear fresh air, the view extends from Schneeberg and Ochsenkopf in the Fichtelgebirge to the highest mountains of the Erzgebirge, Fichtelberg and Klínovec.
After passing the Wirtsberg, follow the village street past the church and open-air museum until Schönlinder Street turns off to the right. Follow it. Shortly before the last houses of Landwüst on a hill, follow a meadow path, later a forest path to the right until you reach the Holzmühle. Back in the forest, it is not far to the musical instrument town. After passing the Bismarck column at the upper part of Egerstraße (near the inn "Zur Eiche"), the path divides into two variants:
The cultural variant follows steeply down Egerstraße into the town center and to the Musical Instrument Museum. After that, follow the well-known marking to the church and Lutherplatz.
If you do not stay overnight in Markneukirchen, walk back through allotment gardens out of the town to the bypass road, cross it and stroll through the Poetenwald. At the site of the former Braunmühle, you meet the natural variant again. This "bypass of Markneukirchen" leaves Egerstraße at the inn "Zur Eiche" and descends to Siebenbrunn. Across the main road and along Mühlenweg to the fishing ponds near Vogtlandcamping.
One kilometer further, both paths meet again. After Breitenfeld, you reach by a short detour on the road.
